Main Purpose of the Job
To coordinate and supervise various medical sections of Reach Out to ensure that clinics run effectively & efficiently on the scheduled days. To oversee the execution of administrative and human resource management functions of ROK, ensure that the organization's financial resources are properly utilized for to ensure effective implementation of the planned activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • To initiate and coordinate the drawing of medical work plans and budgets to ensure their effective implementation
  • To plan for resources required for medical services, organize for their availability as required, and ensure their effective implementation.

  • To provide in put into the process of mobilizing resources for medical support services.
  • To ensure availability of long term , annual and other Reach Out budgets at ROk
  • To provide strategic guidance and support supervision to the responsible officers in the formulation of Reach Out kasaala administration and Human resource management plans band their implementation.
  • To monitor activities of medical staff to ensure their adherence to acceptable professional practices and set quality standards.
  • To monitor the performance and outputs of the medical services and the respective staff therein, to ensure that they are in line with set plans and targets

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery(MBCHB)
Masters Degree in a medical related field preferably Public Health is an added advantage.

Experience:
A least 5 years in HIV/Aids Care and management with special knowledge of Reach Out clinical guidelines and policies.

Should be very conversant with the National HIV/ Aids policies, guidelines and modern trends in HIV/Aids treatment

Job Title: Director Medical Services

Main Purpose of the Job
To coordinate the medical activities of Reach Out and take a lead role in strategic planning, staffing, resource mobilization, succession planning, supervision and coordination.

  • To manage and supervise the medical services of Reach out, ensure effective and efficient management of clients with compassionate manner and take a lead role in the management of patients using the Reach out Model of Care.
  • To oversee reach Out's involvement in the PEPFAR program, ensuring that sufficient numbers of clients are screened for HIV, given ARVs as necessary, and Supported.
  • To oversee any new up coming programs and ensure effective implementation in all the sites/centers.
  • To oversee the drawing of work plans with in the directorate o medical services and evaluate performance and outputs.
  • To supervise and guide medical coordinator and senior medical officer.
  • To monitor all expenditures and income against the annual budget for Reach Out's Medical Department and Kasaala and take appropriate action as may be required.
  • To ensure collection and analysis of appropriate data within the Directorate of medical services and to ensure regular reporting to the Executive Director, Donors and stake holders as reflected in the respective reporting period.

Qualifications
Masters Degree in medical-related field preferably Public Health
Bachelor of medicine and Surgery(MBCHB)

Experience
  • Seven years relevant experience in HIV/Aids Care three of which must be senior management level position in similar organization
  • Special knowledge development and trends of HIV/Aids prevalence and care in Uganda and internationally
  • should be very conversant with the national HIV/Aids policies, guidelines, and modern trends in HIV/Aids treatment.
  • Knowledge of national Policies and legislations relating to HIV/Aids
