Job Title: Chief Business Officer
Reports to: Managing Director

Job Purpose:
Plan and implement effective sales strategies and monitor the progress of new/existing products; as well as provide operational management support on a day to day basis for business development. Chief business Officer oversees the Business structure of the bank as approved and ensures achievement of budget (Liability, Risk Assets, and Profit)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Make business decisions and support the Managing Director on strategic business issues
  • Prepare the annual marketing plans and strategies for liability and asset generation to enable Business achieve targeted growth objectives
  • keep the bank's strategy in focus at all times. Ensuring that the team aligns with the bank's strategy and bench marking market changes in the local and international market.
  • Directly supervise the activities of the group Heads for retail and commercial Banking Groups.
  • Ensure that cost is managed through optimal deployment of resources.
  • Approve and recommend where necessary, the creation of quality risk assets
Required Qualification and Competences
  • First Degree in any field (In addition to a Masters degree in any social Sciences or an MBA or any professional/ Banking related qualifications)
  • Must have at least 10 years experience of which 8 must have been in the banking industry.

Savings and Credit Officer Job in Uganda at UNS-SACCO

Job: Title: Savings and Credit Officer
Reports: General Manager

Function:
To provide technical support in the registration of new members, mobilization of, savings, management and recovery of loans.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Process the registration of new members in accordance with the UNS-SACCO procedures
  • Maintain and update the members' database on a daily basis.
  • Process Members' Loan applications in accordance with the SACCO procedures
  • Receive, Receipt and bank all SACCO revenue on a daily basis
  • Prepare loan Recovery schedules for onward submission to the respective UN Agencies by the General Manager.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Loan portfolio reports
  • Update the loan performer system.
  • Responsible for the proper filling of all loan documents and maintenance of all loan files
Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate will have
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or business Administration or its equivalent obtained from a reputable institution ;
  • At least three years experience in Finance Management with proven ability to manage an office with complex transactions.
  • Additional training or certification in Finance is an added advantage
  • Significant and proven leadership skills at mid level management positions
  • Proven integrity and trustworthiness
  • Computer skills in Microsoft office applications and at least one accounting software(preferably Quickbooks or Tally)

Job Title: Accounts Officer
Reports: General Manager

Function:
To manage and coordinate the accounting function of the UNS-SACCO so as to facilitate the achievement of the SACCO's goals and objectives as stated in the UNS-SACCO Business plan.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the UNS-SACCO General Manager, the Accounts Officer will perform the following duties:
  1. Check the cash receipts, summaries and and the banking by verifying the banking slips nd postings in the cash book
  2. Initiate payments by compiling the relevant documentation for approval.
  3. Ensure that the vouchers are raised and completed according according to the established accounting guidelines and standard practice
  4. Ensure that the vouchers are properly posted in the cash cash book and general ledger on a daily basis
  5. Verify the daily transaction report to ensure all financial transactions have been captured
Skills and Competencies
