About Embassy:
The Embassy of Sweden in Kampala has a broad mandate to promote Swedish-Ugandan relations through political dialogue, development cooperation, trade and investment, cultural exchange and through service to Swedish and foreign citizens with issues related to Swedish authorities. Sweden is strengthening its engagement with Uganda in the area of trade and investment, and has embarked on a new programming period of its bilateral development cooperation.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Significantly contribute to portfolio development of the country programme;
The Program Officer will be in charge of the management of contributions, including preparations, risk analysis, performance review, financial monitoring and auditing;
Actively participate in trade promotion activities;
Significantly contribute to reporting in the area of environment/ climate change, inclusive growth and economic development;
Serve as the primary focal point for the Embassy on environment and climate change;
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Programme Officer for Inclusive Growth and Climate Change should hold an advanced academic degree in relevant field;
A minimum of seven years of professional experience in the field.
Detailed working and understanding of environment and climate change;
Documented knowledge in economics;
Excellent analytical capacity;
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills;
Excellent command of both written and spoken English;
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of working in a multicultural environment;
Ability to adhere to rules and regulations of the Embassy of Sweden;
Motivation to promote Swedish policies and values.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Information Management Process:
The incumbent will make sure there is proper maintenance and smooth running of the Library/Information Centre.
Implements library rules and regulations
Ensures the efficient implementation of mechanisms, systems and regulations necessary to run the library /information centre professionally.
Organises library records of cataloguing and classification of books and periodicals to ensure easy retrieval for CAA staff/users.
Actively participates in the review of the Information Centre systems to ensure compliance to policies and procedures for the department
Maintains information in a neat and presentable manner.
Expeditiously follows the correct procedure for archiving and safeguarding information against loss and destruction.
2. Managing of library correspondence and inquiries:
The Assistant Information Officer conducts regular exchange of correspondence with networking partners in order to share information
The incumbent will use the internet to update information and search for relevant information for users to ensure use of current and diverse information.
Provides accurate and timeous responses to users and handles library correspondence and queries
Actively participates in the production of regular bulletins/circulars to users to promote use of the library services
Ensures new information, rules and regulations is communicated to potential users.
3. Cataloguing and classification of CAA library material:
The job holder will be responsible for indexing books and periodicals according to the various functions of CAA and/or aviation functions for timely search and retrieval by users.
Process organisation’s library materials ensuring proper cataloguing and classification of books and periodicals.
Ensures appropriate cataloguing of classified and confidential information and monitors access to approved personnel only

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Assistant Information Officer career opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Librarianship and Information Science (BLIS)
At least five years’ experience in a reputable organization , two years practical experience in a similar job
Computer literacy skills i.e. competent in the use and management of Records Management Software.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work with minimum supervision
High personal initiative
Highly innovative
Age: Below 30 years
